The Orchards

The Orchards in Crewkerne is a 45 bed care home with nursing. It is a newly extended and refurbished modern purpose built home (2012) located in the centre of Crewkerne which provides accommodation and care for 45 residents.

With separate lounges, dining room and spacious gardens with raised beds, the home provides plenty of space for both social interaction and privacy. Family, relatives and friends are encouraged to visit at any time. Visitors are able to access tea and coffee making facilities in all of the lounges and a wide range of participatory activities are available to the residents including 'away-days'. All the bedrooms have en suite facilities plus television; telephone points can be fitted to every bedroom.

Residents are encouraged to create their own personal space with personal items and furniture. 24 hour personalised care with special diets as required. Personal laundry, chiropody and hairdressing are also available in the home. We have an excellent relationship with all the local GP Practices and have a nominated link District Nurse.

The home enjoys a comprehensive activity programme which features entertainment and with special days being celebrated. We also have close links with Henhayes Community Centre. Due to the close proximity of the town staff are also able to regularly escort service users to the local shops or out for refreshments.
